Pickleball balls are hard plastic balls about the size of a baseball. They are similar to "wiffle balls", but are not the same. The amount of bounce is different. So it is recommended that you purchase regular pickleball balls. In addition, there are balls made for outdoor and indoor use. The indoor balls are thinner and tend to produce a better bounce on wooden floors (such as on a basketball or racquetball courts). The balls a quite durable. However, the outdoor balls are subject to cracking after extensive use and the indoor balls can collapse if struck extremely hard.
Balls are available in several colors based on personal preference.
